LAKE STEVENS — A two-car crash Thursday evening left one woman dead and two others with serious injures, according to the Lake Stevens Police Department.
Around 6 p.m., police and Snohomish Regional Fire responded to a collision at the intersection of Highway 9 and Market Place, according to a press release sent at 11 a.m. Monday, nearly four days later.
Witnesses reported a white Infiniti sedan was traveling at “a high rate of speed,” police said. Witnesses told police the Infiniti went through the light at Market Place “at high speed” and collided with a black Honda SUV turning left onto Market Place.
According to the press release, one woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man and woman were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
It was not clear in the report who was in what car. Lake Stevens police did not immediately respond to reporters’ questions about the crash on Friday or Monday.
Police said criminal charges were “pending,” as they believe speed and intoxication played a role, but it is also not clear who was facing charges.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office had not identified the deceased as of Monday.
