1 dead, 2 seriously injured in hit-and-run crash in Getchell

GETCHELL — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that took place Friday night east of Marysville.

Detectives with the Collisions Investigation Unit were dispatched shortly before midnight to the scene in the 15300 block of 84th Street Northeast. A reckless driver reportedly was passing cars going eastbound on 84th, also known as Getchell, when it collided head-on with a vehicle occupied by four people.

One person died and two others were transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The suspect fled the scene and was not immediately found, the sheriff’s office reported Friday night. No one had been booked on any related charges at the Snohomish County Jail as of Saturday afternoon, according to online records.
