The Medina Foundation awarded a $30,000 grant to Hand in Hand, a local nonprofit in south Everett that provides emergency foster care as well as emergency food, clothing and other assistance to local families.
The grant will help operate Hand in Hand’s Safe Place, which provides up to 72 hours of temporary shelter for children under age 13 who have been removed from their homes by Child Protective Services or law enforcement due to abuse, neglect and other dangerous situations in the home.
Money also will help the Village Impact Project, or VIP, which seeks to help with the needs of low-income families with young children in the Casino Road neighborhood.
