EVERETT — Heavy rain over the weekend could continue flooding on Snohomish County’s rivers into Monday.
The Skykomish River near Gold Bar crested above flood stage early Sunday, affecting low-lying pastures and roads. The Snohomish River near Monroe remains under flood warning into Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle. Downstream near Snohomish, the flood warning is in place until Tuesday morning.
The main stem Stillaguamish River and the North Fork Stillaguamish River crested Sunday.
Also on Sunday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer announced it had activated a team to shore up the Union Slough levee facing the Snohomish River. The corps also were monitoring the Skykomish River near Index.
