This weekly page is designed to take younger readers on a journey of discovery through fun games, puzzles and brain teasers.

Parents know those sorts of games promote success in the classroom and life.

Kids just think it’s fun.

Mukilteo and Everett area Cub and Boy Scouts offer a Scout Expo 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Voyager Middle School, 11711 Fourth Ave. W., Everett.

Scouts will demonstrate their skills, crafts and activities. Events include a bike rodeo highlighting safety tips, a ropes course, Dutch oven cooking demonstration, miniature sailboat races and a demonstration of camping methods.

Also, ride a Community Transit bus and meet Webbly, the Everett AquaSox baseball team mascot.

Evening Academy, a program for middle and high school students, needs volunteer tutors at Edmonds-Woodway, Meadowdale, Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace high schools.

Tutors are needed in math, science, history, English and foreign languages with a commitment of one or two hours a week. For more information, call Bev Stettler at 425-670-7113.

  • Barron Kaminski of the group Screamin’ DeVilles, which was profiled in a story published on Page 21 in Friday’s A&E section, wrote the closing theme for the public-access TV show "All Filler." The group’s Aaron Mitchell wrote "Drive Drive 105." Authorship of the songs was incorrect in Friday’s story.

    Kayak Point Park construction to resume

    Improvements began in 2023, with phase one completed in 2024. Phase two will begin on Feb. 17.
