LYNNWOOD — The force is strong with a 10-foot-long American Sno-Plow that will be named Snowbi Wan Kenobi.
Lynnwood Public Works announced Monday the results of an online public vote to dub two of its six snow plows. Of 303 responses, the “Star Wars”-inspired name won by a Wookie’s nose of seven votes.
Plowy McPlowface — an offshoot of the internet-inspired Boaty McBoatface that won a popular vote for a British polar research ship — will be the name of another smaller snow plow.
People could pick two options out of 11, but not everyone did. There were 531 votes total.
Darth Blader, Blade Runner and David Plowie rounded out the top five and fell short by about 50 votes, said Marcie MacQuarrie of Lynnwood Public Works.
A decal of the names will be attached to the plows.
Neither are the first in the nation. The Minnesota Department of Transportation, for example, has plows named Snowbi Wan Kenobi and Plowy McPlowface.
