MONROE — Rescue crews recovered a man’s body in the Snoqualmie River on Thursday afternoon near Crescent Lake, according to Fire District 7.
Firefighters were dispatched around 3:15 p.m. when a passerby noticed an empty, idling truck with a boat trailer at a boat launch south of Monroe, Fire District 7 spokesperson Heather Chadwick said.
An empty boat was found upstream. Downstream, crews found a man caught on a log, deceased. They recovered his body. His identity is expected to be confirmed by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Rescue crews with District 7 and Duvall Fire kept searching for any other victims, but found none as of Thursday evening. The Monroe Police Department and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office searched from above with a drone and a helicopter.
