STANWOOD — The body of a swimmer who went missing Sunday was found Monday in the Stillaguamish River.
Around 5 p.m. Sunday, the woman, 58, was with a large group when she jumped into the river without a life jacket, according to Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe.
Search and rescue crews and fire departments were called to the 21900 block of Sather Road to search for the missing woman.
The Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit found the woman’s body in the river at noon Monday.
As of Monday afternoon, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office had not announced the woman’s identity or cause and manner of death.
