MUKILTEO — An apparent overnight standoff with police ended after several hours Thursday morning. It turned out the suspect was elsewhere.
A 20-year-old suspect was arrested around 10 a.m., nearly 12 hours after a reported assault prompted a major police response.
Mukilteo Police Officer Myron Travis said a woman was cut by a man inside a home in the 5800 block of 94th Street SW just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived, they found her outside and she was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Told the man was still inside the home, police surrounded it.
North Sound Metro SWAT arrived with authorization to enter the home. When they went in Thursday morning, the man was not found.
“We thought we had good information that he would be found in the residence,” Travis said. “That proved to not be the case.”
Travis said it appeared to be an act of domestic violence.
Mukilteo Police found the suspect in the area of 60th Avenue West and 94th Street Southwest.
