This is one of the 12 finalists for the Herald Business Journal’s annual Emerging Leaders Award for 2025. The winner will be named at an event on April 8.
Nichole Webber, 36
Nichole Webber is known in political circles for acting as Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin’s campaign manager in 2017. That’s when Webber helped the former Everett council member win a narrow victory for her first term as mayor.
She has since joined the Franklin administration as the city of Everett’s communications director, crafting the mayor’s message that the city is on the rise as a place to both live and do business. Outside of politics, Webber is known for her dedication to youth sports and those who need a helping hand to play.
Beyond coaching, Webber serves on the Everett Hoops Club Basketball organization’s board.
She said she contributes her time to “administrative tasks and supporting leadership efforts to create an inclusive, empowering environment for these young athletes. It’s incredibly rewarding to invest in the next generation and see the confidence and teamwork they develop on and off the court.”
Webber said she enjoys coaching young girls, “where I focus on teaching them confidence, competitiveness and emotional expression.”
She said, whether it’s coaching, serving on boards, or simply picking up garbage during a walk, she believes leaders lead by example.
“Above all, I believe leadership is rooted in honesty, integrity and a selfless commitment to improving the lives of others and strengthening the community we share,” she said.
