Police investigate body found in Lynnwood pond

LYNNWOOD — A body was found Wednesday floating in a Lynnwood pond.

As of 5 p.m., the recovery efforts were ongoing, Lynnwood police Sgt. Sean Doty said. The person’s age and gender had not been determined.

The body was reported by passersby about 2:30 p.m at the Sprague’s Pond Mini Park along 200th Street SW. Several ponds in that area are fed by Scriber Creek.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office also was on scene, on the west side of the park, Doty said. The medical examiner was expected to take custody of the body.
