STANWOOD — With power still out for thousands across the county, several schools were starting late or closed Monday.
All Stanwood School District schools closed because of power outages and road hazards.
Lake Stevens schools started two hours late and would not have morning preschool. Lake Stevens High School was closed, and there was no out-of-district transportation.
Lakewood School District was starting two hours late. Its preschool and early childhood education and assistance program (ECEAP) were canceled along with out-of-district transportation.
Arlington schools started two hours late, except Arlington High and Pioneer Elementary schools, which were closed. Its morning and afternoon preschool and ECEAP also were closed, and there would not be the skills center or regional apprenticeship program.
Snohomish School District was starting two hours late. Morning and afternoon half-day special education preschool and ECEAP were closed. The morning Sno-Isle Technical Skills Center and out-of-district transportation were canceled. An update about the status of Cascade View Elementary and Machias Elementary schools was expected at 8 a.m.
