Suspect in custody after fatal shooting Saturday in Granite Falls

GRANITE FALLS — A 27-year-old man died after being shot following a verbal altercation around 11 a.m. Saturday in the 21100 block of Gun Club Road.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect, a 22-year-old Mount Vernon man, fled in a vehicle. He was arrested without incident during a traffic stop in Granite Falls.

Deputies attempted to save the victim, who died at the scene. The man’s identity has not been released by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Major Crimes detectives are investigating.
