MARYSVILLE — Three teens were arrested Sunday night after vandals broke windows at a middle school and set fire to a trash bin.
A neighbor near Kellogg-Marsh Elementary School called 911 shortly before 9 p.m. to report vandalism to cars in the neighborhood.
While officers were investigating that call, a silent alarm alerted police to suspicious activity at nearby Cedarcrest Middle School.
Police discovered that rocks had been thrown through two classroom windows and that a fire in one dumpster had spread to a second one, police Sgt. Pete Shove said.
A police dog was brought in and began “a pretty long track,” Shove said.
The teens, whose ages were not immediately available, were arrested for investigation of malicious mischief and taken to the Denney Juvenile Justice Center in Everett. One of the suspects also had a warrant out for his arrest on an unrelated matter.
