Woman reports being raped by stranger in her apartment

LYNNWOOD – Police said they’re investigating a reported stranger rape of an 18-year-old woman in Lynnwood.

The woman told police she woke up early this morning in her apartment in the 18000 block of 36th Avenue West to find a man in her bedroom, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.

The man then sexually assaulted the woman and spent a significant amount of time in the apartment before leaving, Sessions said.

When the man left, the woman called 911.

The woman was being evaluated by doctors today, Sessions said.

Police have not released a description of the suspect and no arrests have been made.
