EVERETT — A young child died after reportedly being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon near Silver Lake.
Paramedics responded to a report that a child under age 5 suffered life-threatening injuries around 4:30 p.m., near the intersection of 19th Avenue SE and 112th Street SE.
Everett police officer Kerby Duncan confirmed minutes later that the child had died.
Police were investigating. Their initial findings suggested the driver would not be arrested for a crime, Duncan said.
Officers shut down a stretch of 19th Avenue SE, south of 112th Street SE.
