DES MOINES— A 67-year-old scuba diver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after an incident off Redondo Beach on Puget Sound.
South King Fire said a man and woman were diving Monday morning when the man began experiencing a problem 90 feet down.
The pair started to ascend and were able to get to the surface.
A Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife boat was in the area and the crew pulled the injured diver onto the boat, South King Fire said.
Officials performed CPR on the man at the scene and were able to bring back his pulse.
However, after he was taken to Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, the man went into cardiac arrest again.
