Having watched the Republican and Democratic national conventions, I find myself stunned at what seems like a polar opposite paradigm of America.
I urge you to reflect on this and refrain from looking at everything through the lens of your ideology. That path leads to ongoing hatred and rotting of your heart. I love my country and despite its flaws, it’s the best place on planet Earth to live. Nobody ever said it is perfect. However, to call it racist, homophobic, xenophobic or misogynistic is simply perpetuating what you hear from those with very deep issues in their hearts and minds.
Use your brain and if you are thinking honestly and deeply, you will find that we are none of that. If you blindly comply with what the talking heads in the media are saying, you are sadly missing something very important. Note for those who love to parse words or cherry-pick statements. I did not say there was no racism or phobias. I merely said these are not the rampant, predominant traits in the majority of Americans.
I think this is what is permeating American media and is exacerbated by the media’s attempt to divide us and influence the election in their direction. Between now and election day I hope you can honestly assess where you are on this. Only you can stop this vitriol.
