Bloomin’ big bloomers

A British museum has taken possession of a pair of women’s underwear that once belonged to Queen Victoria.

The bloomers have a 56-inch waist, and with the application of a sports drink logo would look just like the roomy shorts worn by today’s plus-size American males.

Cheap eats: Speaking of plus-size bodies, we’re spending less this summer for the food to fuel them. Shoppers report paying as little as 88 cents for a half-gallon of milk, and Costco has slashed the price of its rotisserie chicken by $1.

Ironically, the price of food might fall so low that the only people who can’t afford it are farmers.

Lunch bunch: With food so cheap, perhaps there’s no excuse for parents to send their kids off to school with plain old peanut butter sandwiches in their lunch bags.

You could try something healthy such as tofu or raw vegetables — stuff your kid will only eat if it’s slathered in ranch dressing.

Heck, stuff one of those cheap Costco rotisserie chickens in your kid’s bag. Of course, pretty soon they’re going to need Queen Victoria’s bloomers.
