Democrats will need moderates, independents to win in fall

Presidential election

Democrats will need moderates

I think most of us see this coming November’s elections as the most crucial to our democracy than any election since this nation was created, at least in modern times. Democrats don’t want another Trump and Republicans fear that Democrats will elect a president that will act like Trump and what goes around comes around. I don’t necessarily believe that, but think what a Democratic president could do to an opposing party who’s already facing a demographic problem in that today’s minorities are tomorrows majorities and the Grand Old Party doesn’t do well with minorities.

The odds of Democrats electing a Democrat like Trump are pretty slim but Trump was a Democrat once upon a time so maybe I should say the odds of ever electing another human being like Trump are hopefully very slim.

The immediate concern is that the Dems put up a candidate who can handle an opponent like Trump, who knows no bounds of decency, has no respect for anyone who opposes him, and has already shown that he will do anything to win. Trumps ignorance of the world around him except for whatever benefits himself and his track record both as a private citizen and as president speak for themselves. Trumpists will never believe anything that doesn’t come out of the mouth of Fox News and their not going to vote for anyone but Trump regardless of what anyone else says but moderates and Independents will and be assured, Democrats will need them come November.
