Regarding Gale Fiege’s Sunday article, “The doctor is always in”: Dr. Gary Schillhammer deserves a medal for his services to the Darrington and surrounding community, and Gale Fiege deserves a medal for her heartwarming article about him. It is absolutely amazing there are still family practices like that left in the world even though they are few and far between. His wife, Julie, also deserves a medal for her role in the partnership that has made everything work for them.
My deepest respect goes to the Schillhammer family.
