Don’t equate basic economic fairness with Marxism

I’ve written many, many letters to this esteemed publication for a long time. And the theme of my beliefs is a very liberal morality that insists on brutal honesty, fairness, open eyes to history and the present and an insistence that we all see the destructive side of the miracle of capitalism.
I have also talked a lot about human stupidity and human nature. What I want is a world that respects nature as beautiful and the source of our true selves; a world that rises above nature and is kind and just as we share the fruits of our great fortune and intelligence. That does seem where we’re headed. If you think all that is utopian Marxism then I would say it’s time to reevaluate what kind of people you want to live with. And what kind of world you want to be in.
