What can be done to stop the fireworks every holiday? They’re illegal, but these inconsiderate idiots seem to think they’re above the law. As I am writing this letter (on Dec. 31 at 12:15 a.m.), I have a dog laying beside me, trembling and terrified, as other people do. I can smell the smoke, see the backyard light up, fireworks whizzing through the air. Why are the fireworks stands allowed to operate, not to mention the Indian reservation where these lamebrains purchase them. No, I’m not a racist. Controlled and professional fireworks are fine, but this is insane. Gee, another one whizzed by, and this started before midnight. What a surprise, or is it just me? Duh! It’s now 1:30 a.m. and they’re still setting them off. Not amusing.
