Praise and awards are nice, but they don’t pay bills. Teachers should be paid the salary they deserve for the years of study they received a teaching degree for. They are in the profession because they love imparting knowledge, but they need a good salary in order to pay their bills and raise their own children.
Everyone probably remembers a teacher who made a positive impact on their own life. Please don’t cause teachers to leave their profession and the job they love because the pay they earn doesn’t pay their bills.
Also, please vote to forgive student loans.
