Thanks(?) for the ‘Our Fault’ earthquake scare

Spring is in the air, flowers are blossoming, trees are filling out their leaves, and people are finally getting over the covid jitters. But then, The Herald published the three-part Our Fault series (May 16-18). I found it to be interesting and informative, however do you think it was a wise decision to print this series when the major impact of it is to probably scare the bejeezus out of people by informing them they are living on top of a vast bowl of Jell-o? Don’t you think people could use a break from being afraid for the last year?
I realize that “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself,” but then again, the only part the articles left out was a description of “your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” as they slowly sink into the primordial quagmire that Snohomish County will be when the South Whidbey Island Fault ruptures.
Pardon me for keeping this short, but I’ve got to run to Costco and stock up on TP and bottled water before the shelves go empty again.
