Oh, my stars and garters, Snohomish County Auditor Carolyn Weikel is quashing Tim Eyman’s First Amendment rights (“Eyman needs to end his protests over voters guides,” The Sunday Herald, Sept. 17).
It’s such a shame that this bloviating, profiteering, collegiate watch peddler, provocateur can’t discern the difference between common vernacular and proper business and public composition. While it is improper to use a phrase like B.S. in public discourse, it is also a cowardly linguistic dodge.
I will put this in simple terms that Tim will understand. You may have found a dictionary that finds B.S. to indicate a lie but it also means sucking up and going on when you have nothing to say. The latter fits him perfectly. Have the guts to call a lie a lie if you believe it to so.
I have filled this letter with elevated language that avoids common vernacular except maybe stars and garters. To wrap this up I will conclude with a book title by Al Franklin, Mr. Eyman, you deserve a chapter in his book “Lies And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.”
