Global warming and carbon dioxide emissions cannot be affected by President Biden issuing executive orders. Despite the huge investment in “green energy” the world’s needs are still dependent largely on fossil fuels. Only roughly 20 percent comes from renewables. To reverse this will take time.
It’s hard to imagine the United States’ 300 million vehicles becoming electrically powered by 2030 let alone other countries vehicles. And can you also imagine the huge changes in infrastructure required to do this? It will take years if not decades to achieve. Until then fossil fuels will have to fill the gap.
What could help in the meantime is to cut back on travel, like the millions of airliner flights per year, the thousands of cruise ship journeys and the billions of automobile miles we accumulate.
But that’s not likely to happen.
