Was Sen. Hobbs not paying attention to vote on carbon fee?

Published 1:30 am Sunday, March 3, 2019

Sen. Steve Hobbs, give us break! “Another way to address our infrastructure needs and environmental concerns responsibly”? (“Is state ready for another massive transportation package?” The Herald, Feb. 22).

What? Steal from businesses who will simply pass the cost on to the people who use/buy their products? Plus your adding six cents to the already third highest gas tax in the nation! The very people you supposedly represent have already voted down the carbon tax twice! Were you not paying attention to what happened in our state’s legislative process in 2018?

For Initiative 1631, 56 percent of people in the state voted no and 44 percent voted yes. Here we go again just a few months later with you, Sen. Hobbs, taking an end-around voters with your massive roads plan that will be funded mostly with a carbon tax? This is a classic example of why most Americans do not trust their elected officials. Give us a break, and give it up already!
