A five-bedroom, three-bath historic four-level on a Rucker Hill corner lot is our featured home today. It was built in 1910, with a down-to-the-studs remodel recently completed.

A beveled glass door at the front entrance opens to a large living room with cherry flooring, crown molding, bay window overlooking a side yard, four large windows overlooking the front and side yards, and a gas fireplace with granite hearth and surround.

Adjacent is a dining area, also with cherry flooring. It has a rectangular window with peek-a-boo Sound view.

A family room is on the other side of the dining area and has three large windows with Sound views. A sliding door opens to a small porch with access to a side yard and the back yard.

The kitchen is nearby, with the same flooring, maple cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, work station, and a window above the sink, overlooking a side yard.

A door in the kitchen provides access to the home’s attached, oversized two-car garage.

A half bathroom completes the entry level. It has cherry flooring, a pedestal sink, high ceiling and crown molding.

A switchback staircase in a corner of the living room ascends to the upper level. The staircase has oatmeal looped carpeting, which is also used in the home’s bedrooms.

At the top of the staircase there is a loft area suitable for a den, library or home office. It has crown molding and two large windows facing the street.

The remainder of the upper level consists of a master suite. Its bedroom is at the back of the house and has a gas fireplace and view windows.

Features of the master bathroom include tile flooring with radiant heat, an elongated double vanity topped with granite, a deep soaker tub with tile surround positioned beneath a view window, and an oversized shower with tile floor, tile surround, and a view window.

Just off the master bathroom is a laundry room with built-in cabinet and access to a walk-in closet.

Another staircase on this level ascends to the top level, which is a finished attic with two bedrooms and a bonus room.

The finished basement has a media room, two more bedrooms, a laundry room and a three-quarter bathroom with radiant tile flooring.
