A four-bedroom, 4.5-bath two-story with basement is our featured home today. It’s on a private 4.7-acre wooded lot east of Kayak Point and west of Lake Goodwin, and was built in 1999.
A double door at the front entry opens to a foyer with tile flooring. There is also foyer access from a door at the side of the house, under a breezeway that connects the house to a detached two-car garage.
A formal dining room is to the right of the front entry, and an island-design kitchen is to the left of the side entry.
The formal dining room is within a tall turret at the front of the house, with floor-to-ceiling windows and wood/laminate flooring. This same flooring extends to an adjacent sitting area and nearby family room.
Kitchen features include 12-inch tile flooring, cherry cabinets with granite countertops, island with five-burner cooktop and breakfast bar, pantry closet, and window above the sink.
A see-through gas fireplace is positioned between the sitting area and family room. It is trimmed with a wood mantel and surround.
The sitting area includes two picture windows and a French door accessing a composition deck overlooking a side yard and surrounding wooded areas. The family room includes built-in bookshelves and another window.
A nook off the kitchen serves as an informal dining area and has tile flooring, a picture window flanked by smaller windows, and a French door accessing the deck.
A wrought-iron curved staircase in the dining room ascends to the top level, which includes a loft, an owner’s suite, two bedrooms, a full bathroom and bonus room.
Suite highlights include a double-door entry, two windows overlooking the back yard and woods, a walk-in closet, and a five-piece bathroom. The bathroom has tile flooring, two single vanities topped with tile, a jetted tub with tile surround beneath a bay window, a separate toilet room and an oversized shower with two showerheads.
The two bedrooms share a continental full bathroom separated into two sections: one for the toilet and shower-tub combination, the other for an elongated double vanity topped with tile. Both bedrooms have double closet with wooden bifold doors.
The basement is a mother-in-law unit with living room, kitchen, full bathroom and bedroom.
