It’s a great time to put your home on the market. Here are some simple tips to improve first impressions and curb appeal, which could gain you thousands more…

1. A thorough cleaning of your home’s interior and exterior gives the impression that your home has been well cared for – Clean every surface, carpets, drapes, counters, appliances, windows, walkways, driveway, etc. and air out your rooms. If you need help, consider hiring a cleaning service.

2. Freshening up the landscaping will change the look of your home – Mow the grass, trim back the bushes and add fresh mulch.

3. Decorating and improving the front entrance will make a strong first impression and set the stage for the rest of the home – Paint the front door, add potted plants, upgrade the light fixture, door locks and house numbers.

4. “Less is more”. Clearing out the clutter will make your home look cleaner and more spacious – Put away knickknacks, family photos, and extra furniture, and clear out your closets of items you seldom use.

5. Stage your home with your own furniture – It’s all about making your home cozy and inviting to as many buyers as possible who will be able to imagine themselves living there.

There are many more things to consider when selling your home…Call or email us if you have questions or want to discuss further.
