A year after four players left the team following the season, another Washington women’s basketball player is on her way out. Nicole Romeo, a freshman guard who played limited minutes off the bench, has decided to return to her native Australia, a school spokesman said. Word is she is not going to seek a transfer to another U.S. school, and that she just wants to be closer to home.
Last season, Tia Jackson’s first at Washington, saw four of six freshmen—Candice Nichols, Kali Bennett, Katelan Redmon and Jess McCormack—leave during or after the season.
