AquaSox fall to Dust Devils

Everett allowed seven runs in the sixth inning of a 7-1 loss.

PASCO — The Everett AquaSox allowed seven runs in the sixth inning and fell 7-1 to the Tri-City Dust Devils on Wednesday at Gesa Stadium.

Noelvi Marte plated a run when he grounded into a double play to give the AquaSox (40-42) a 1-0 lead in the top half of the sixth. But the Dust Devils (36-44) answered back in the bottom half with a barrage of run-scoring singles. Mitch Nay had a two RBI single and Osmy Gregorio, D’Shawn Knowles, Mike Peabody, Edwin Yon and Jose Guzman each added an RBI single.

Tri-City’s Landon Marceaux (3-5) pitched seven innings of one-run ball and allowed five hits to go with four strikeouts.

Everett starter Logan Rinehart tossed four scoreless innings, allowing only one hit while striking out five. Fred Villarreal (2-1) allowed four runs and took the loss.
