PASCO – Stevan Rivas drove in five runs and the Tri-City Dust Devils pounded the Everett AquaSox 12-3 on Sunday night at Gesa Stadium.
Rivas hit a grand slam in the first inning and the Dust Devils (45-60) went on to score the game’s first 12 runs before the AquaSox (50-57) rallied for three in the ninth.
Gabe Matthews added an RBI double and run-scoring single, Jon Stewart doubled and drove in two and Casey Dana chipped in a pair of RBI for Tri-City.
Alberto Rodriguez hit an RBI double and Charlie Welch drove in two with a double for Everett, which left 11 runners on base.
Tri-City’s John Swanda (2-0) spun five shutout innings, allowing four hits and one walk, to pick up the win. He struck out four.
Everett’s Logan Rinehart (0-2) allowed seven runs, five earned, on eight hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. The right-hander fanned six batters.
