Berezowski sets Silvertips goal-scoring record in OT loss

The 20-year-old scored his 113th and 114th career goals and moved to the top of Everett’s career list in a 6-5 loss to Seattle.

KENT — Jackson Berezowski finally reached the summit.

The Everett Silvertips forward became the franchise’s all-time leading goal-scorer in a wild 6-5 overtime loss to the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday evening at ShoWare Center.

The 20-year-old’s goal late in the second period was the 113th of his brilliant career, vaulting him past Patrick Bajkov to the top of the Silvertips’ all-time goal-scoring list. Berezowski added another goal in the third period to push his career total to 114.

The third-period goal from Berezowski tied the game at 3-3 and started a wild back-and-forth sequence. Kevin Korchinski scored to give Seattle the lead back, but Roan Woodward tied it again for Everett at 4-4 just over a minute later. Brad Lambert gave the Thunderbirds the lead back with a goal at 10:38, but Beau Courtney answered for the Silvertips with a game-tying goal at 13:16 that eventually led to overtime.

Lambert scored just under a minute into overtime to lift the Thunderbirds to the wild win.

Thomas Milic made 23 saves for Seattle (34-8-1-1).
