Bothell claims state berth, ousts Sehome

BOTHELL – Bothell defeated Sehome 31-20 in a Class 4A bi district playoff game Tuesday night at Pop Keeney Stadium.

In the first quarter, Sehome scored first on an 8-yard run by running back Mike McEvoy.

Bothell’s offense responded with a 30-yard touchdown run by Ryan Auld.

Bothell then took the lead when Aaron Leonard recovered a fumble in the end zone.

In the second quarter, Bothell’s Aaron Newhouse caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kyle Allred.

In the third quarter, Sehome’s Andrew Holloway scored on an 18-yard touchdown run.

Bothell responded with a 1-yard touchdown run by Mike Leeper.

In the fourth quarter, Bothell scored the final touchdown with a 42-yard pass from Allred to Newhouse.

Allred was 15-for-26 for 218 yards and McEvoy had 24 carries for 172 yards.

  • White River 2, Jackson 1 (shootout): Jessica Shadle scored the only goal for Jackson in a Class 3A shootout loss to White River.

  • Snohomish County Christian 3, Archbishop Murphy 1: David Ferrar and Soo Lee each scored a goal and had an assist to help Snohomish Christian win a winner-to-state, loser-out tri-district playoff game against Northwest A/B rival Archbishop Murphy.

    Goals-Snohomish County Christian: Ferrar , Korpi, Lee. Archbishop Murphy: Cook. Goalkeepers-Snohomish County Christian: Kehres. Archbishop Murphy: Albo. Records-Archbishop Murphy 12-7 overall. Snohomish County Christian 13-1.

  • Class 4A Northwest District doubles: Kamiak’s James Hung and Marc Rollins defeated teammates Jim Vessella and Peter Chung, who entered the meet seeded 13th, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in consolation play to qualify for the state tournament in May.
