Former Stealth coach Hall dies

VICTORIA, B.C. — Chris Hall, who coached the National Lacrosse League’s Washington Stealth from 2010-2013, died Sunday after a battle with throat cancer.

He was 64.

The Stealth played at Everett’s Comcast (now Xfinity) Arena under Hall, winning the NLL Champion’s Cup in 2010 and making him the second coach in league history to take different teams to the title.

The Stealth also reached the championship game in 2011.

Hall’s 85 regular-season wins place him third on the all-time list trailing Darris Kilgour (121) and Les Bartley (93).

Hall was inducted into the NLL Hall of Fame in September.

When the Stealth moved to British Columbia in June of 2013, Hall continued as coach of the new Vancouver Stealth, retiring in June and moving to a new role as special adviser to the president.
