EVERETT — Niko Huuhtanen netted a hat trick and the Everett Silvertips blasted the Spokane Chiefs 7-2 on Friday at Angel of the Winds Arena.
Hunter Campbell, Olen Zellweger, Michal Gut and Alex Swetlikoff each added goals for the Silvertips (42-10-3-5, 92 points), who outshot Spokane a whopping 48-15. Jackson Berezowski dished out three assists and Gut and Caden Zaplitny added two apiece.
Bear Hughes and Timafey Kovgoreniya netted goals for the Chiefs (19-36-4-1, 43).
Koen MacInnes had 13 saves in 15 chances for Everett.
Cooper Michaluk stopped 23 of 28 shots and Manny Panghli 18 of 20 for Seattle.
The victory helped the Silvertips maintain a five-point lead over second-place Portland, which visits Everett on Saturday night.
