Jadyn Edwards, a Jackson High School graduate and three-time first-team All-Mountain West Conference forward at New Mexico, was selected in the third round, 29th overall, of the National Women’s Soccer League draft by Racing Louisville FC on Thursday evening.
Edwards, The Herald’s 2021-22 Woman of the Year in Sports, led New Mexico to three Mountain West titles and was also an Academic All-American.
Edwards finished her career at New Mexico first in program history in assists (24) and games played (94). She was third in Lobos history in goals scored (31) and fourth in game-winning goals with nine.
After a senior season at Jackson in which she scored 18 goals and added 17 assists, Edwards was named The Herald’s 2017 Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
