EVERETT — The Seattle Cheney Studs shut out the Everett Merchants in both ends of a Saturday doubleheader at Funko Field, winning the opener 2-0 and the nightcap 6-0.
In the seven-inning opener, Austin Hauck and Diego Altamirano managed a pair of singles against the Studs, and they were the extent of the Merchants’ offensive output.
Gavin Bullock took the loss on the mound, allowing two earned runs on five hits in four innings. He walked one and struck out one.
The Studs also held the Merchants to a pair of hits in the nightcap, with Sam Linscott and Riley Parker recording a single apiece.
