FEDERAL WAY — Mukilteo’s Mark Strickland earned medalist honors as he qualifed for the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship on Tuesday at a 36-hole qualifier at Suncadia Resort’s Tumble Creek Club in Cle Elum.
Strickland, who just finished his senior year playing for the Western Washington University men’s golf team, shot rounds of 72-68.
The U.S. Amateur Championship will be held August 11-17 at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga.
