EVERETT — Shayne Hoekendorf went 2-for-2 with a home run, double, two RBI and two runs scored to help fifth-seeded Everett to a tight win over No. 12 Ferndale in a 3A District 1 Tournament opening round loser-out game on Friday.

Isa Davis, Maddie Pewitt and Hanna Jones all had two hits in the game for Everett, which advanced to face No. 4 Monroe in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Ferndale finished its season with a 5-12 overall record.

Marysville Getchell 11, Meadowdale 4

EVERETT — Seventh-seeded Marysville Getchell beat No. 10 Meadowdale in a 3A District 1 Tournament opening round loser-out game on Friday.

Marysville Getchell advanced to face No. 2 Cascade in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Meadowdale finished its season with a 7-13 overall record.

Arlington 13, Mountlake Terrace 3

EVERETT — Sixth-seeded Arlington beat No. 11 Mountlake Terrace in a 3A District 1 Tournament opening round loser-out game on Friday.

Arlington advanced to face No. 3 Shorewood in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Mountlake Terrace finished its season with an 8-12 overall record.

Marysville Pilchuck 8, Mount Vernon 7

EVERETT — Ninth-seeded Marysville Pilchuck beat No. 8 Mount Vernon in a 3A District 1 Tournament opening round loser-out game on Friday.

Marysville Pilchuck advanced to face top-seeded Snohomish in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Mount Vernon finished its season with a 10-10 overall record.

2A DISTRICT 1 TOURNAMENT

Sehome 9, Archbishop Murphy 6

BELLINGHAM — Ninth-seeded Archbishop Murphy fell to No. 8 Sehome in a play-in game for the 2A District 1 Tournament on Friday.

Archbishop Murphy finished its season with a 2-15 overall record.
