Lakewood 46, Stanwood 43

STANWOOD — Blake Conyers scored a game-high 15 points, including a pair of key 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, as Lakewood opened the season with a non-league win over Stanwood on Wednesday night.

Mason Weller scored 12 points and Justice Taylor added 10 for Lakewood (1-0).

Mack Hepper scored a team-high 10 points and Kolten Bartram-Scott added nine for Stanwood (0-1).

Shorecrest 79, Ferndale 57

SHORELINE — Elijah Johnson poured in 24 points and Parker Baumann added 23 more as the Scots knocked off Ferndale in a non-league contest.

Newton Pepple added 16 points for Shorecrest (1-0).

Jazen Guillory led the Golden Eagles (0-1) with 19 points.

Snohomish 59, Lynden Christian 58

LYNDEN — After going down by one with just seconds remaining, Snohomish’s Ella Gallatin hit a bucket at the buzzer to lift the Panthers to a season-opening non-league win over Lynden Christian on Wednesday night.

Gallatin scored a game-high 23 points and Jada Andresen added 13, including eight in the fourth quarter, for Snohomish (1-0).

Libby Stump scored 22 points for Lynden Christian (0-1).

Nooksack Valley 65, Archbishop Murphy 53

EVERETT — Freshman Ava Marr scored a game-high 20 points, but Archbishop Murphy fell to Nooksack Valley in the season opener for both schools on Wednesday night.

Senior Taylor Campbell scored 11 points and senior Hannah Humphrey added seven for Archbishop Murphy (0-1).

McKenna Wichers led Nooksack Valley (1-0) with 18 points.

King’s 60, Shorewood 34

SHORELINE — With the game tied at 13 after one quarter, King’s outscored Shorewood 25-7 in the second quarter and the Thunderbirds could never recover in a season-opening loss.

Freshman Rylie Gettman scored a team-high 12 points and sophomore Kate Evans added 10 points for Shorewood (0-1).

Junior Gwyn Siers had a game-high 19 points, and sophomore Natalie Durbin added 17 points for King’s (1-1).
