BASEBALL

Snohomish 3, Kamiak 1

SNOHOMISH — Van Berman sruck out seven and allowed just two hits and one earned run in five innings to help lead Snohomish to a season-opening win over Kamiak.

Brendan McKinley hit a two-run home run and closed the game with two scoreless innings and struck out three to earn the save for Snohomish (1-0).

Tyler Odegaard doubled and Elias Russell tossed two scoreless innings in relief for Kamiak (0-1).

Archbishop Murphy 6, Meadowdale 2

EVERETT — Freshman Henry Gabalis homered and Tommy Zook tossed a complete game and allowed just two runs on three hits while striking out seven to lead Archbishop Murphy to a win over Meadowdale.

Gabalis and Spencer Locke had multiple hits each for Archbishop Murphy (1-1).

Meadowdale fell to 0-2 on the season.

Monroe 10, Cedar Park Christian 0 (6)

MONROE — Carter Sprague allowed just one hit in six shutout innings as Monroe rolled to a season-opening win over Cedar Park Christian.

Parker Mann doubled, tripled and drove in three runs and Kody Edelbrok had two hits and two RBI for Monroe (1-0).

Glacier Peak 4, Issaquah 1

SNOHOMISH — Faith Jordan struck out six in four innings and Maya Mesa added eight punchouts in three innings as Glacier Peak opened its season with a non-league win over Issaquah.

Jordan tripled and drove in two, Mckellen Hamilton added a triple, and Bri Titus and Ashleigh Wojcik each drove in a run for the Glacier Peak (1-0) offense.

Lake Stevens 11, Juanita 1 (5)

LAKE STEVENS — Alexa Bradley and Alexis Johnson each homered and drove in two runs as Lake Stevens powered to a season-opening win over Juanita in five innings.

Johnson finished with three hits, Bradley added a triple, Tatum Cooper drove in two runs and Mara Sivley tossed five scoreless innings and allowed just two hits and one earned run for Lake Stevens (1-0).

Mak Reynolds homered for Juanita (0-1).

Shorewood 9, Nathan Hale 3

SHORELINE — Riley Wheaton homered and doubled and Cayden Wheaton doubled and tripled and Shorewood earned a win over Nathan Hale to open the season.

Marin Cady and Avery Grutz each had two hits, and Emma Kellum and Kate Duthweiler added doubles for Shorewood (1-0).

Ruby Stewart had a double for Nathan Hale (1-0).

Kamiak 18, Woodinville 6

WOODINVILLE — Five different Knights delivered three hits apiece as Kamiak pounded out 20 base hits in a non-league win over the Falcons.

Synclair Mawudeku, Aliya Boonsripisal, Scarlette Chapman and Kylie McClure each had three hits for the Knights (1-0). Chapman and Elisabeth Funtson drove in three runs apiece, and Funston and Boonsripisal each had a pair of doubles. Mawudeku picked up the win after allowing seven runs, six earned, over 6.2 innings with nine strikeouts.

Woodinville fell to 0-1.
