BOYS BASKETBALL

4A District 1/2 Tournament

Play-in (loser out)

Lake Stevens 59, Issaquah 51

ISSAQUAH — Devin Freeman led a trio of Vikings in double figures with 15 points as they topped the Eagles in the play-in round of the Class 4A bi-district 1/2 tournament.

Brody Pierpoint scored 14 points and Javon McFerrin had 12 for Lake Stevens (9-11). The 10th-seeded Vikings will travel to face second-seeded Glacier Peak in a quarterfinal game 7 p.m. Friday.

Charles Roorda had 16 points and MacCoy Pond added 14 for seventh-seeded Issaquah (14-8).

North Creek 70, Kamiak 62

MUKILTEO — The eighth-seeded Knights fell to the ninth-seeded Jaguars in the play-in round of the Class 4A bi-district 1/2 tournament.

Kamiak finished its season 9-10.

North Creek (13-9) will travel to face top-seeded Mount Si in the quarterfinals 6 p.m. Friday.

3A District 1 Tournament

First round (loser out)

Marysville Getchell 76, Ferndale 58

MARYSVILLE — Bubba Palacol poured in a game-high 28 points and the sixth-seeded Chargers bounced the 11th-seeded Golden Eagles in the first round of the Class 3A District 1 tournament.

Zach Pittman had 17 points and five rebounds, Ano Palacol scored 15 points, Shawn Etheridge chipped in 11 points and four steals and Bubba Palacol added nine rebounds and four steals for Marysville Getchell (16-5). The Chargers will travel to face third-seeded Arlington in a quarterfinal game 7 p.m. Friday.

Mantaj Singh led Ferndale (7-14) with 18 points.

Everett 72, Stanwood 60

EVERETT — Isaiah White scored 10 of his game-high 25 points in the final quarter as the seventh-seeded Seagulls dispatched the 10th-seeded Spartans in the first round of the Class 3A District 1 tournament.

Mohamed Juma had 13 points and Noah Parker and Sam Lawless added 10 apiece for Everett (13-9). The Seagulls will travel to face second-seeded Mount Vernon in a quarterfinal game 8 p.m. Friday.

Max Mayo scored 21 points and John Floyd netted 20 for Stanwood (7-11).

Monroe 54, Snohomish 52 (OT)

MONROE — Wyatt Prohn hit two free throws in the final moments of overtime to lift the fifth-seeded Bearcats past the 12th-seeded Panthers in the first round of the Class 3A District 1 tournament.

Caleb Campbell had 13 points and seven rebounds, Ethan Hogan scored 11 and Chayce Waite-Kellar added four points and 10 rebounds for Monroe (14-7). The Bearcats will travel to face fourth-seeded Shorecrest in the quarterfinals 7 p.m. Friday.

Jason Roth poured in a game-high 20 points and Drew Davis chipped in 13 for Snohomish (8-13).

Shorewood 62, Edmonds-Woodway 56 (OT)

SHORELINE — The eighth-seeded Stormrays outlasted the ninth-seeded Warriors in overtime during the first round of the Class 3A District 1 tournament.

Shorewood (12-7) will travel to face top-seeded Mountlake Terrace in the quarterfinals 7 p.m. Friday.

Edmonds-Woodway finished its season 10-11.

2A District 1 Tournament

Quarterfinals

Lakewood 71, Bellingham 49

ARLINGTON — Caleb Greenland registered a game-high 22 points and the fourth-seeded Cougars used strong opening and closing quarters to best the fifth-seeded Bayhawks.

Zach Stoddard scored 18 and Ben Rucker added 12 for Lakewood (13-8), which outscored Bellingham a combined 38-14 in the first and fourth quarters. The Cougars will face top-seeded Lynden in the semifinals 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Kincade Vanhouten had 17 points to lead Bellingham (11-10). The Bayhawks will host eighth-seeded Burlington-Edison in a loser-out consolation bracket game Friday.

Cedarcrest 67, Archbishop Murphy 36

DUVALL — The second-seeded Red Wolves raced past the 10th-seeded Wildcats in the second half of the Class 2A District 1 quarterfinal.

Jack Leblanc led four Cedarcrest players in double figures with 15 points, adding six assists. Adam Rawligs had 13 points and seven assists, Alex Amaral had 13 points and four steals, and Tillman Vowell had 10 points for the Red Wolves (17-3), who face third-seeded Anacortes in the semifinals 4:45 p.m. Friday at Mount Vernon High School.

Archbishop Murphy (7-14) travels to face sixth-seeded Sehome in a loser-out consolation bracket game 7 p.m. Friday.

1A District 2 Tournament

Quarterfinals

Overlake 50, Sultan 40

REDMOND — The fifth-seeded Turks fell to the fourth-seeded Owls in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A District 2 tournament.

Sultan (4-17) will host 11th-seeded South Whidbey in a loser-out consolation bracket game Friday.

Overlake (8-10) will travel to face top-seeded King’s in a winner-to-state semifinal contest 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) 42, Granite Falls 38

BOTHELL — The sixth-seeded Tigers fell to the third-seeded Eagles in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A District 2 tournament.

Granite Falls (19-3) will host 12th-seeded Northwest in a loser-out consolation bracket game Friday.

Cedar Park Christian (10-11) will travel to face second-seeded Seattle Academy in a winner-to-state semifinal contest 6 p.m. Tuesday.

King’s 68, Bush 20

SHORELINE — The top-seeded Knights steamrolled the eighth-seeded Blazers in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A District 2 tournament.

King’s (14-9) will host fourth-seeded Overlake in a winner-to-state semifinal contest 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Bush (11-5) will host 10th-seeded Eastside Prep in a loser-out consolation bracket game 6 p.m. Friday.
