Reader poll: Which Seahawks rookie are you interested in?

We’re about to get our first up-close-and-personal look at the newest crop of Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks hold their rookie minicamp Friday through Sunday at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton. That will be the first opportunity for this year’s draft picks, undrafted rookie free-agent signings, and invited rookies to show Seattle’s brass what they can do.

This year’s Seahawks draft class is large (11 players), but lacking that high-profile skill-position player who would tend to garner the majority of the attention (no offensive skill players among Seattle’s first five selections). So there’s no one player who stands head and shoulders above the fray when it comes to fan interest.

That’a not to say there aren’t rookies who warrant attention. Defensive tackle Malik McDowell, a second-round pick and Seattle’s first selection, is considered a player who has talent, but still needs to find the consistency. Offensive lineman Ethan Pocic, the team’s second selection and also a second rounder, will get plenty of opportunities to earn a job on an offensive line that’s in flux. Cornerback Shaquill Griffin, a third-round pick and the Seahawks’ third selection, has a chance to win a starting job with DeShawn Shead unlikely to be ready for the start of the season as he recovers from a knee injury.

Then there’s the human-interest stories. Defensive tackle Nazair Jones, taken in the third round, overcame Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in high school, a disease that left him unable to walk. Receiver Amara Darboh, another third rounder, escaped the civil war in Sierra Leone when he was a child. And who couldn’t be at least somewhat intrigued by a the defensive back Seattle selected in the sixth round, a guy who happens to be named Mike Tyson?

So lots of storylines to choose from. Which player will you be most interested in at Seattle’s rookie minicamp?

If voting “Other,” please specify in the comments section along with why you’re interesting in said player.
