The Everett Silvertips are inching closer to being back at full strength.
Defenseman Ian Walker, who has missed the last three games with an upper body injury, was a full participant at Silvertips practice Tuesday. Forward Jalen Price, who has missed the last two games with a lower body injury, did not skate Tuesday, but is expected to return Wednesday, according to Everett general manager Garry Davidson.
When Price returns, the Silvertips’ injury report would list just 19-year-old center Riley Sutter. Everett, however, could really use Sutter back in the lineup as he’s the team’s No. 1 center. Sutter was injured in the third period of the Silvertips’ 6-1 win over the Prince George Cougars on Dec. 29.
Sutter is one of four Everett players with a point per game. The Calgary, Alberta, native has 41 points in 38 games.
Tips release forward
The Silvertips confirmed they have released 19-year-old forward Bronson Sharp. He played in just seven games this season with Everett before being sidelined after a hit during the Silvertips’ 7-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers on Oct. 13.
“We really didn’t want him (to play this year) and don’t think he should, but that’s his decision,” Davidson said. “He would be free to play at a different level.”
Sharp is exploring opportunities in the British Columbia Hockey League, Davidson said. The Langley Rivermen of the BCHL acquired the listing rights to Sharp from the Merritt Centennials in exchange for future considerations on Jan. 10, according to the league’s transaction wire.
