EVERETT — The Seattle Thunderbirds scored six unanswered goals in the second period and stormed to an 11-3 win over the Everett Silvertips on Saturday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Lucas Ciona had a hat trick and Kyle Crnkovic scored twice in the game as Seattle won its seventh consecutive game to open the season.

Ryan Hofer, Austin Roest and Ben Hemmerling scored for the Silvertips, who outshot the Thunderbirds 45-29 in the game.

Braden Holt started in goal for Everett (6-2-0-0) and stopped 16 of 24 shots before Tim Metzger finished the game in relief and made two saves on five shots.

Thomas Milic had 42 saves for Seattle (7-0-0-0).
