SPOKANE — Ronan Seeley scored a game-winning goal with 2:43 remaining in overtime to lift the Everett Silvertips to a 4-3 victory in their season opener against the Spokane Chiefs.
Seeley’s winning shot came after Everett allowed Mac Gross to tie the game at 3 with just 1:52 left in the third period.
Jackson Berezowksi and Jacob Wright each scored goals in the opening period to give the Silvertips a 2-0 advantage.
The Chiefs tied it up on second-period goals by Ty Cheveldayoff and Luke Toporowski, but Everett’s Ryan Hofer answered with a 1:40 left in the period to make it 3-2.
Seeley also had an assist and Michal Gut added two more.
Silvertips netminder Koen MacInnes stopped 14 of 17 shots.
Spokane’s Mason Beaupit had 28 saves in 32 attempts.
