The National Lacrosse League on Wednesday named Washington Stealth forward Luke Wiles its Offensive Player of the Week for his 10-point performance in Saturday night’s win at Calgary.
Wiles scored a career-high five goals and added five assists to lead the Stealth to a 19-14 victory at the Scotiabank Saddledome. His 10 points equaled his career-high, which he first achieved with a four-goal, six-assist effort for the San Jose Stealth against Colorado in 2007.
The Stealth moved from San Jose to Everett prior to the 2010 season.
Wiles was a key part of Washington’s championship run a year ago, tallying 49 points (24 goals, 25 assists) in 15 regular-season games. In three postseason contests, he scored four goals, including a hat trick in the West Division Final, and added three assists.
